We are glad to inform you that ABK GROUP presentationentitled “reduce energy costs in papermaking by managing air process” has been chosen by the Scientific Committee of Aticelca for its 43° Annual Congress which will be held on May 24^th and 25^th , 2012 in Ascoli Piceno (Italy).

Many existing paper machines, especially the ones that have been recently commissioned, are more or less are well equipped in the field of formation, press, drive, automation, QCS, steam system etc…but Hood and Ventilation equipments, even modern ones, are often in bad conditions and/or not utilized as they should be.

When costs of steam and electricity are constantly increasing over the years, papermakers cannot neglect anymore the hidden but effective costs of over-ventilated or uncontrolled Air Systems. By controlling efficiently the air flows in the hood, while procuring reliable and user friendly tools to help operators running their Air Systems, the potential gains and energy savings may be just interesting, or really attractive or simply incredible but true!

Our presentation will present several new realizations where the results have exceeded expectations.

We will also show paper machines where steam consumption dropped by more 10% and electricity consumption for fans have been divided by factor 5: incredible? Just give us the opportunity to learn why and how it is possible.
